Step by step
Download the code
In Settings, Number, under Scan to text, press Download. Scanning it opens a text to your setter. It appears once your number is active. On the Starter plan there is no Scan to text code on the Number tab; any QR code that opens a text to your number works the same way.
Add a line that says what happens
Print it with a short line next to it, such as: Scan to text us for a price. People scan more when they know what the scan does.
Print it big enough for the distance
A business card is read at arm's length; a yard sign or a truck from across the street. Make the code larger the farther away people will be.
Scan the proof before you print
Scan the final design with your own phone camera and send the text. It should reach your setter and show up in Conversations.
Where a QR code earns its place
Anywhere people see your name but are not on your website.
- Yard signs and job-site signs for trades.
- Vehicle wraps and tailgate decals.
- Business cards and appointment cards.
- Flyers, door hangers and direct mail.
- Event booths, conference badges and the last slide of a talk.
- Front desk and window decals for after-hours walk-bys.
- Receipts, invoices and packaging for repeat business.
Agencies
Each client workspace has its own number and its own code. Download it inside the client's workspace, so every scan reaches that client's setter.
Questions people ask
- Does the QR code change if my number changes?
- The code carries your number, so it points at whatever number it was downloaded with. If your number is ever replaced, download a new code and reprint.
- What does the lead see after scanning?
- Their messages app opens with a new text addressed to your number. They send it, and the setter replies within seconds.
