Settings to use
Open Settings, Agent tab. Set Industry to Service and Personality to Friendly: warm and easy going, still brief. Most leads text while comparing options, and a light, easy tone keeps them talking.
Service is the industry for salons and barbershops, home services companies and gyms. With it set, the setter already knows:
- Leads want to know what it costs, how soon they can come in, and whether you are near them.
- It asks one question, what they want done or how soon, then books.
- It quotes only the prices and area you give it. With no price, it names what the price depends on and says the visit is where it gets set.
Qualification questions
Paste these into Qualification questions, one per line. The setter asks one of these per conversation, the one it needs to book, then offers two times. A money question always comes last.
- What service are you looking for?
- Have you been in before, or would this be your first time?
- How soon are you hoping to come in?
- Any preference on stylist or barber?
Objection playbook
Paste these into Objection playbook and replace anything in square brackets. Price ranges and your deposit or no-show policy belong here if you want them said by text. On a real objection the setter first asks one short question to find the actual reason, once per conversation, then answers from your entry and offers two times.
- Price: [Service] runs [your range] depending on [what changes it]. Exact price gets set once we see you.
- Just want a price: The range is [your range]. Exact cost depends on length and what you want done.
- Deposit: [Your deposit policy, or: No deposit to book].
- No-show policy: [Your no-show or cancellation policy].
- First time nervous: Nothing's locked in until you're happy with the plan we talk through at your visit.
A sample thread
What a booked thread looks like with these settings, assuming your price entry says a cut and color runs $120 to $220 and your deposit entry says no deposit. Each setter line goes out as its own text.
- Lead: hi how much for a cut and color
- Setter: Cut and color runs $120 to $220 depending on length and what you want done
- Setter: Have you been in before, or would this be your first time?
- Lead: first time here
- Setter: Tue 11am or Sat 1pm?
- Lead: is there a deposit
- Setter: No deposit to book
- Setter: Tue 11am or Sat 1pm?
- Lead: sat
- Setter: Sat 1pm, locked in
- Setter: Who do I put it under?
- Lead: Nina
- Setter: Thanks Nina. What's a good email to shoot the invite to?
- Lead: nina@example.com
- Setter: I'll send the invite there. See you Sat
What to leave out
Three things to keep out of your questions and playbook.
- Prices you have not confirmed this season. The setter quotes only what your playbook says.
- Deposit and no-show policy you have not written down. It states only what you give it.
- Guarantee language. The setter never promises a specific result or calls one client's look typical.
Questions people ask
- Will the setter quote my prices?
- Only the ones you give it. Put ranges in the playbook if you want them said by text. With none, it names what the price depends on and says your visit is where it gets set.
- Will the setter mention a deposit or no-show policy?
- Only if you write one into the playbook. Add your exact policy and the setter states it word for word.
