Playbook: cleaning services

Turn price texts into booked first cleans, with your rates quoted and payment details left for the visit.

Settings to use

Open Settings, Agent tab. Set Industry to Service and Personality to Friendly: warm and easy going, still brief. Most cleaning leads text between other things, and a light tone keeps them replying.

Service is the industry for cleaning services, home services and gyms. With it set, the setter already knows:

  • Leads want to know what it costs, how soon you can come, and whether you cover their area.
  • It asks one question, what they want done or how soon, then books.
  • It quotes only the prices and area you give it. With no price, it names what the price depends on and says the visit is where it gets set.

Qualification questions

Paste these into Qualification questions, one per line. The setter asks one of these per conversation, the one it needs to book, then offers two times. A money question always comes last.

  • Which type of cleaning do you need: standard, deep, or move out/in?
  • How many bedrooms and bathrooms?
  • How soon are you hoping to get on the schedule?
  • Is this a one-time clean or would you want it recurring?

Objection playbook

Paste these into Objection playbook and replace anything in square brackets. Price ranges belong here if you want them said by text. On a real objection the setter first asks one short question to find the actual reason, once per conversation, then answers from your entry and offers two times.

  • Price: [Service] runs [your range] depending on [what changes it, e.g. size, frequency]. The visit is where we confirm your exact price.
  • Just want a price: The range is [your range]. The exact number depends on your home, which is what the visit sets.
  • Trust or who's coming: [Your vetting policy, e.g. Our team is background checked and insured].
  • Recurring discount: [Your discount policy, or: Recurring plans do get a better rate, set at the visit].
  • Cancellation: [Your cancellation policy].

A sample thread

What a booked thread looks like with these settings, assuming your price entry says a deep clean runs $250 to $350. Each setter line goes out as its own text.

  • Lead: hi how much for a deep clean, 3 bed 2 bath?
  • Setter: Deep cleans here run $250 to $350, depending on size and condition
  • Setter: How soon are you hoping to get on the schedule?
  • Lead: this week if possible
  • Setter: Wed 9am or Fri 1pm?
  • Lead: can you do it for less, my friend got a lower quote elsewhere
  • Setter: Is it the overall price, or finding an option that fits?
  • Lead: mostly the price
  • Setter: Depends on the home and what's included in that other quote
  • Setter: The visit is where we confirm your exact price. Wed 9am or Fri 1pm?
  • Lead: wed works
  • Setter: Wed 9am, locked in
  • Setter: Who do I put it under?
  • Lead: Rachel
  • Setter: Thanks Rachel. What's a good email to shoot the invite to?
  • Lead: rachel@example.com
  • Setter: I'll send the invite there. See you Wed

What to leave out

Three things to keep out of your questions and playbook.

  • Card or payment details. The setter never asks for these; that happens at the visit or in your invoicing tool.
  • Prices you have not confirmed this month. The setter quotes whatever your playbook says.
  • Guarantees on results or timing. The setter never says a job is guaranteed and never invents a start time.

Questions people ask

Will the setter quote my cleaning rates?
Only the ones you give it. Put ranges in the playbook if you want them said by text. With none, it names what the price depends on and says the visit is where it gets set.
Which Industry should a cleaning company pick?
Service. It is written for local service businesses such as cleaning companies, home services companies and gyms: what it costs, how soon, and whether you cover the area.
