Outbound campaigns

Starting conversations from a list of opted-in leads: who can send, uploading a list, the consent confirmation, writing the first message, and what stops a campaign.

Who can send

Outbound needs a two-way line. The Outbound plan and the Agency plan include one. Business can add one for $297 a month under Settings, Workspace. Inbound-only lines cannot start conversations, and a sub-account's outbound is managed by its agency.

The Outbound screen: an Upload a list panel, the lead lists table with an opt-in confirmed badge, and the Campaigns panel.
Outbound. A list, a confirmation, a campaign. Nothing sends until you start it.

Lead lists

Upload a CSV (up to 5 MB, 2,000 rows) and press Check this file. You see how many rows are ready, how many need a look, and how many are duplicates. Before a list can be used you confirm, by name, that every person on it opted in to texts from your business. You are the sender of record; your name, the time and the statements you agreed to are recorded.

Campaigns

A campaign sends one plain-text first message to each person on a list from your outbound line, spread across the day inside each lead's 8am to 8pm. That first message has no link and no attachment, and after it the line goes quiet until the person writes back. When they do, the setter takes the conversation from there exactly as it would an inbound lead.

Write the first message the way you would text someone who gave you their number last week: who you are, why you are texting, one easy question. Save it as a draft, review it, start it separately.

Pacing and protection

Each line has a daily cap on first contacts and the sends are paced, not dumped. If replies come back as opt-outs or the carrier flags the line, sending stops to protect your number and the screen tells you why. Fix the list before you restart; a new number with the same list gets the same result.

Replies

Every reply lands in Conversations like any other thread, with the campaign as its source, so Analytics can tell you which list booked and which did not.

Questions people ask

Can I send a link in the first message?
No. First contacts are plain text only. The setter can share a link later, after the person has replied, if links are allowed for your workspace.
How fast does a campaign go out?
Across the day, inside each lead's 8am to 8pm, under a per-line daily cap. A list of a few hundred typically clears in a day or two.
What counts as opted in?
The person gave your business permission to text them. A form they filled in, a number they gave you, a reply they sent. Bought, scraped or directory lists do not count.
